BULLYING: HOW TO HANDLE IT BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE
Target audience: Parents of K-5th graders
Webb Egerton will focus her discussion on the impact of bullying to parents and their children. Everyone in the world feels bullied at some point and teaching children how and what to do is going to make them stronger people. Webb will address how your children can take it and give it back without hurting them. She will provide tips on how you can teach your children to be strong and OK with not being "popular" in a group. It happens to all of us and we need to give our children the tools to develop inner strength and handle bullies.
- What is bullying, teasing or fun? How to prepare your children, how they can learn strength when the bullying doesn't stop, and teach your kids self-confidence!
- What to do when they are being "cyber" bullied or subtly bullied? Often this is more emotionally damaging and what to do to turn it around!
- What to do when the other parents are bullies? And, when other parents believe their kid is not the bully.
Webb Egerton, a Life Coach (teacher, lecturer, author), has focused her work on families in crisis and the importance of working together as a unit. Her specialty is in sensory-holistic therapy, which she developed, and using visualization, meditation and communication skills to address challenges and become the person you want to be.
Parents Eager to Assist their Kids, the PEAK hour is a free community resource and support group formed by parents for parents who want to gain knowledge on ways to best assist their children through challenges of growing up in today's world. Seminars are lead by psychologists, therapists and various experts focused on helping parents build resilience and self confidence in their children.
WHO: Parents of grade school kids (nursery though 12th grade)
